If you believe the conduct of a judge, judicial justice, judicial case manager or justice of the peace was inappropriate, first read the information on the Complaints page before filling out the form below.

Complaints

The Chief Judge has no power to change the outcome of a ruling or decision, order a new trial or overturn a decision. For any of these remedies you may need to file an appeal or apply for judicial review, not make a complaint.

The Office of the Chief Judge does not have that information. In B.C., records of court proceedings are maintained by the Court Services Branch of the B.C. Ministry of the Attorney General.

For information about a particular court matter, check Court Services Online or contact the Court Registry where the matter was heard. For information about access to court records please see the Access to Court Records policy.

This form can only be used for complaints about judges and justices of the Provincial Court of British Columbia. For complaints relating to the BC Supreme Court and Court of Appeal, visit their websites or that of the Canadian Judicial Council.

Sorry, you cannot submit this Complaint

The Chief Judge only has the power to deal with complaints that:

involve a judge or justice of the BC Provincial Court
are not requests to change a decision of a judge or justice
are not requests for information
To complain about a judge of another BC court see the Canadian Judicial Council.

If you want to change the decision of a Provincial Court judge or justice see Appeals.

If you want information see Answers to Common Questions.

If you hit submit you will see a message stating “Your submission has been received” please note that is a limitation of our system, your complaint will not be sent to the Provincial Court, nor will you receive a response.
