We want your feedback on our website!
The BC Provincial Court launched a new and improved website a year ago. We’re now conducting a short survey to make it even better. We do know a few things about our users’ interests, but we need to know more about whether the site meets your needs and whether you find the information we share useful and easy to find.
What we know
More than 380,000 people visited our new website in 2025. Between them, they viewed its pages more than 1.3 million times. Their most common goals were finding judgments, especially recent judgments, and finding information about court locations. But after that, the topics they were interested in might surprise you.
Our “Calculating child support” page was the mostly frequently visited legal information. It had almost 53,000 views in 2025. The “Glossary and court jargon” page had almost 35,000. Next came the “Court records and transcripts” page with more than 29,000 views. The “Judges and justices” page and “Small claims” landing page both had more than 23,000 views, while the “Criminal” landing page had more than 19,000.
Our picklists contain standardized wording for common court orders. They are well-used. The criminal order picklists were viewed more than 16,000 times and family orders picklists more than 15,000 times in 2025.
eNews articles were viewed more than 35,000 times last year. The most popular were “What should I call a judge, judicial justice, judicial case manager, or justice of the peace?” and “What you need to know about family pets and the Family Law Act”.
Unfortunately, people looking for an eNews article ended up seeing “Page Or Content Not Found” 3,289 times in 2025. The new website doesn’t include all ten years of our eNews articles. Some were out-of-date and others have been incorporated in other webpages.
If you saved or shared links to our eNews or other web pages before October 2024, please update your links using our re-direct list or the search engine to avoid the frustration of “Page not found”. This is especially important for people and groups sharing our links in a website or newsletter. If you still can’t find something, use our survey to let us know.
What we don’t know
When we created the new website, our goal was to make it welcoming, user-centered, reliable and easy to navigate. We wanted to use plain language and offer information in various media including videos. In keeping with the Court’s mission to be accessible, fair, and innovative, we made the website mobile-friendly and ensured we met government accessibility standards. We added new features including a glossary of terms, a quick exit button, improved search capability, the ability to download a pdf of a page to print or save, and more graphics.
When building the site, we consulted users to understand their needs and how they look for information. During the beta phase, we surveyed users and used their feedback to fine-tune the site. Now we want to find out if other adjustments are needed to fill gaps on the website or make other improvements. Please help us by taking a minute to fill out the survey. There are only five questions so it won’t take long.
