The Court is committed to using plain language to make information easy to understand and improve access to justice. To do this, the Court has combined and updated ten separate access policies, a practice direction, and notices into one clear Access Policy. This Access Policy takes effect today.

Access Policy

The existing policies, practice direction, and notices retired today are:

  • ACC-0 Access Policies
  • ACC-1 Access to Court Proceedings
  • ACC-2 Access to Court Records
  • MED-1 Media Accreditation Policy
  • NM-01 Accredited Media Access to Court Proceedings and Court Records
  • BAN-1 Bans on Publication
  • Notice 10 Recording of Proceedings Before Judicial Case Managers
  • Notice 21 Remote Attendance in the Provincial Court
  • FAM-02 Searching a Registry File Rule 174 Provincial Court Family Rules

The Use of Electronic Devices Policy was moved into Appendix C of the new policy.

These documents are still available on our website but will be moved to the Archive page.

Archived notices, policies and practice directions

Most of the access rules stay the same but the new policy includes more information.

Other Court policies that refer to the retired policies, practice direction, and notices will be updated shortly to refer to the new Access Policy. We are also updating web pages to refer to the new Access Policy and will post another Court Update when that work is done.

Please check the date an article was posted. We do our best to keep our website up to date, but older articles may not reflect current information.
