Chief Judge Melissa Gillespie has announced the appointment of one judicial justice.

It is my great pleasure and privilege to announce that the Lieutenant Governor in Council has signed Orders in Council appointing a judicial justice to the Provincial Court. The new judicial justice appointment is Donna De Baie.

Judicial Justice De Baie 

Judicial Justice De Baie will be sworn in on December 17, 2025 and assigned to the Justice Centre and traffic. 

Judicial Justice De Baie has been a practicing lawyer since her call to the British Columbia bar in August 2006. Her work experience is largely in civil litigation. She was an associate and then a partner at a law firm. She has also done volunteer work providing legal support to paralegals at a legal clinic focusing on improving access to justice for people with legal problems and limited resources. 

The Court congratulates its newest colleague on her appointment and welcomes her to the Provincial Court.
