Justice of the Peace Adjudicator Appointments to the Provincial Court of British Columbia

Chief Judge Melissa Gillespie has announced the appointment of four justice of the peace adjudicators.
It is my great pleasure and privilege to announce that the Lieutenant Governor in Council has signed Orders in Council appointing four new justice of the peace adjudicators to the Provincial Court. The new appointments are Anil Aggarwal, Kirandeep Dhaliwal, Subodh Chandra, and Wendy Serné.
Anil Aggarwal
Anil Aggarwal will be sworn in on October 20, 2025. Mr. Aggarwal holds a JD from UBC [2015]. Practicing as a civil litigator, he has extensive experience working with self represented litigants. He is a mediator and an adjudicator with the Mental Health Review Board [2019-2023] and the Employment Assistance Appeals Tribunal [2018-present].
Kirandeep Dhaliwal
Kirandeep Dhaliwal will be sworn in on October 20, 2025. Ms. Dhaliwal has worked in civil litigation for her entire career. Called to the bar in 2004, she has practiced with several small to mid-sized law firms engaged mostly in personal injury work. She has appeared in all levels of court, and is a mediator and an arbitrator. Since 2019, she has worked with ICBC at their headquarters in North Vancouver. Currently she is in a senior a senior management role.
Subodh Chandra
Subodh Chandra will be sworn in on October 20, 2025. Mr. Chandra is a Senior Manager at ICBC headquarters in North Vancouver. He has worked there since 2007. Regularly involved in complex negotiations and mediations, he is also an adjudicator with the Energy Resource Appeal Tribunal [since 2023]. Mr. Chandra immigrated to Canada in 2000 with his wife. He is fluent in Hindi.
Wendy Serné
Wendy Serné will be sworn in on October 20, 2025. Ms. Serné has been involved in civil litigation for 26 years, having been called to the BC Bar in 1998. Since 2016, she has practiced exclusively in the area of civil litigation and personal injury. She has current mediation experience, and has extensive experience working with self representing litigants.
